Reacting to news that the Liberal Democrat campaign to save Oxford's public toilets from closure has stopped the closure of several loos, Oxford East Lib Dems' parliamentary spokesman, Steve Goddard, has pledged to keep fighting to save all of the loos. Several of the toilets still up for closure are in Oxford East.
Steve said "Labour's U-turn does not go far enough. What people who have signed the petition have been saying to us is that not only do they want all the toilets saved but they also want cleaner facilities open for longer. Why are Labour continuing with plans to close the toilets in Headington Hill park, Castle St and Barnes Rd? We will be continuing our campaign to save all of these loos."
Steve and the Lib Dem team have already been gathering petition signatures in Cowley Centre and Cornmarket and will be in Headington this Friday afternoon. In addition to this the petition can be signed on this site.
