Following news that the Oxford and Cherwell Valley College (OCVC) has had to scale down it's plans for redevelopment following funding cuts to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) budget, university lecturer and Oxford East Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesman is visiting the city centre campus tomorrow. He will be talking to students and finding out their views as well as meeting with the principal, Sally Dicketts, to discuss future plans.
Steve said "The education of our young people is absolutely crucial. Colleges like the OCVC provide an invaluable service in expanding skills and education. It is a real shame that the Labour Government has slashed the funding for local colleges. The Liberal Democrats believe that especially in a recession this is completely the wrong approach. Nick Clegg has put forwards a plan to invest in apprenticeships, paid internships and other measures to ensure that our young people have the skills to compete in a global market place."
