"While I certainly didn't come into politics to start banning things, I have severe concerns about this club. This is an utterly inappropriate location for it. It is a heavily populated area that can ill afford the extra crime that seems to accompany them; the long overdue regeneration of this part of the city would not be helped if visitors and businesses associate it with something which could be seen as sleazy. What's more, it's clear that there is huge local opposition to this license being given: that opposition should be listened to."
